Nicaragua is the second poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere. In rural areas of the country three out of four people cannot meet basic needs like food, water, and shelter. This great need leads to a loss of hope. We want to show those who have lost their hope that their lives matter and that they were created for a purpose.
One of the most powerful tools in fighting poverty is to equip individuals with the right resources and skills to help themselves. Providing children with educational opportunities and adults with various types of technical training will give them something that will last a lifetime and no circumstance will take away.
A model that is built around steady support will eventually produce positive
changes. Continuous work in one community at a time will result in changed individuals, changed families, and changed communities. We might never know how far our work may go, but we know that future generations will be transformed through what we do.
